J. Crew, Anthropologie eye new stores at Ponce City Market

December 10, 2014

Popular fashion retailers J. Crew and Anthropologie look to open new stores at Ponce City Market, the massive mixed-use project taking shape along Atlanta BeltLine's Eastside Trail in the Old Fourth Ward neighborhood.

Permits recently were filed in Atlanta related to the new stores.

On Dec. 10, a building permit was submitted for a roughly 5,300-square-foot J. Crew store, which is estimated to cost more than $500,000 to build out.

On Dec. 1, a permit was filed related to electrical work for a roughly 10,000-square-foot Anthropologie store at Ponce City Market.

More details about the stores are not yet available, and it's unclear if the retailers have signed leases. A spokeswoman for Ponce City Market developer Jamestown could not be immediately reached for comment.

The Atlanta-based firm does have existing relationships with J. Crew and Anthropologie as both retailers have stores at Westside Provisions District, another trendy adaptive reuse project Jamestown runs in Westside Atlanta.

Jamestown seems to be ramping up its retail announcements as 2014 comes to a close.Just a few days ago, the company revealed several new tenants for its central food hall, which is slated to open next spring.
