Legacy West, Set To Open Next Year, Will Bring A Ton Of New Restaurants To Plano

December 29, 2016

For the past year, it’s been clear that the suburbs are where it’s at when it comes to opening restaurants in Dallas. Nowhere is that more true, though, than in Plano, thanks in large part to the massive Legacy West development that’s set to open next year.

In addition to the food hall where Matt McCallister, Andrew Chen, and John Tesar will open quick-serve establishments, the Dallas Morning News reports that Canadian restaurant chain Earls will open its doors at Legacy West at some point next year. The original Earls was founded in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada in 1982, and has since expanded to nearly 70 locations in North America.

Known for its “hand-smashed” Angus burgers and impressive-for-a-chain cocktail program, Earls has made a big move into the U.S. in recent years, opening outposts in Florida, Virginia, and Massachusetts (among other states). The Legacy West will be the chain’s first Texas outpost.

Earls will join Tommy Bahama, which will open its second Texas restaurant in June of next year at Legacy West, and a slew of other eateries from Dallas and beyond including Fogo de Chao, Sprinkles, Shake Shack, Taverna, and The Haywire. Put simply, you’re not going to be at a loss for a dining option in this three-block development.

Each concept at Legacy West is on its own opening timeline, which will be staggered throughout 2017. The development is set to make its official debut in March 2017, but many of the restaurants won’t open until much later next year.
