Liberty Mutual breaks ground on $325 million Plano campus that will be home to 4,000 employees

Liberty Mutual Insurance is breaking ground this morning on its 2-tower office campus in West Plano.

The $325 million, almost 1 million square-foot project is part of the $2 billion Legacy West development at the southwest corner of the Dallas North Tollway and State Highway 121.

Architect Omniplan designed the modern high-rise buildings which are joined by retail and parking.

“This will be our first significant campus outside of the Northeast,” Liberty Mutual CEO David Long said.

Today was the first reveal of what the project will look like.

More than 4,000 people will work in the project starting in 2017.

“This project will take about 22 months to build,” said Don Mills with developer KDC. “We are officially started.”

It’s right down the road from where Toyota Motor is building its $350 million North American headquarters.

KDC is the developer for both projects.
