Plano's Legacy West adds novel bookstore eatery and 12 new shops
Plano shopping and dining mega-center Legacy West has signed on more than a dozen new stores and restaurants, set to open in the fall. They will join Legacy West's burgeoning lineup of tenants including the recently opened flagship Frontgate store; Warby Parker; and the first Tommy Bahama Store and Restaurant in Dallas-Fort Worth.
Among the openings are the largest food hall in North Texas and new concepts from Barnes & Noble and Starbucks. Here's the list:
Barnes & Noble Kitchen
The new Barnes & Noble
concept store opening at Legacy West will be the first in the
Southwest to offer not just the latest novels, but a restaurant
with an expanded menu including beer and wine. The Legacy West
new concept store will have 9,000 square feet, and will be a
place to relax, discover new books, listen to an author speak,
and have a glass of wine. Especially the part about the glass of
wine. Barnes & Noble is the nation's largest retail
bookseller, with 633 stores across 50 states, but currently only
three locations of this hybrid concept.
Fashion Optical
Fashion Optical is not your typical optical
chain. It has eye wear from around the world, from the fashion
capitals of Paris, Milan, London, Geneva, and Berlin among many
others, and all at affordable prices. It also boasts fashion
music pumped throughout the store, and emphasizes friendliness
and professionalism on its staff. True to its perfectionist
profile, lenses are made and manufactured on site, in most
cases.
Filson
Established in Seattle in 1897 to outfit prospectors
headed for the Yukon, Filson has a 120-year legacy, built on its
reputation for quality and durability. Its long-lasting
clothing, luggage, and accessories are the choice of explorers,
adventurers, ranchers, hunters, anglers, engineers, and anyone
with a passion for the outdoors. A location opened in
Highland Park Village in spring 2016 but closed in December.
Haywire
Haywire is another restaurant concept from
Frontburner (Whiskey Cake, Mexican Sugar, The Ranch at Las
Colinas), this one with a "true Texas" theme. The menu
features heritage recipes made modern with locally sourced Texas
ingredients for tastes both unexpected and comforting. No idea
what that actually means, but it sounds yum. There's a bar
with local spirits, craft beers, handcrafted cocktails, and an
unparalleled craftily crafted wine list.
J.Crew
Who remembers back to 1983 when J.Crew debuted with
the mailing of its first catalog? Today, the business includes
retail and outlet stores nationwide and a growing online
business. J.Crew partners with the finest global fabric mills
and craftsmen, as well as iconic brands such as Thomas Mason,
Timex, New Balance, and Red Wing. J.Crew has several line
extensions, including crewcuts (for kids sizes 2-14), J.Crew
Ready-to-party, and J.Crew Sport.

American style and effortless cool. A tailor shop will be
located at the front of the store allowing customers to have
their favorite denim pieces tailored by a team of specialized
craftsmen. Exclusive to only a handful of Levi’s stores
worldwide, the tailor shop offers custom embroidery, tailoring,
hemming, and repairs.

and among only a few across the country, Starbucks Reserve
offers a craft coffee experience. The first Texas
location opened in Uptown Dallas in the McKinney &
Olive tower in June.
Sugarfina
High-end candy store known for champagne bears,
sugar lips, and peach bellinis that are just as beautiful to
look at as they are to taste. The first Sugarfina store opened
November 2013 in Beverly Hills, and now includes 24 boutiques
