We’ve Died And Gone To Food Heaven

June 27, 2017

Listen—there’s no shortage of dining reviews of Dallas restaurants old and new (and definitely not around here). But that doesn’t mean we don’t get excited for new kids on the block—especially when they’re housed within a chic luxury shopping and entertainment destination where we’re bound to work up an appetite. Here are eight dining and drinking destinations at Legacy West that pair well with shopping up a storm.

Shake Shack

East Coast/West Coast beef can be dicey, but all burger fans can agree that bringing New York’s famed Shake Shack to Legacy West was a deliciously great idea. What was once a hot dog cart in Manhattan’s Madison Square Park has achieved rock star status for its crinkle cut fries and frozen custard shakes, going global with more than 125 domestic & international locations—the latest at Legacy West (in between Tommy Bahama and West Elm).

Earls Kitchen + Bar

Craving something made from scratch that’s also healthy for you? Earls Kitchen + Bar can deliver that (and then some) at Legacy West—the latest (and 68th) installment of the family-owned restaurant. And Earls’ diverse menu truly has something for everyone, from Pan-Asian-inspired dishes like a Dynamite Roll and Bimbimbap to American classics like burgers and ribs. And if you’re looking for something a little lighter, Earls can do that, too: veggies are grown fresh and dressings and sauces are made fresh daily.

Mesero

Restaurateur Mico Rodriguez is back at it for the fifth time around with the latest installment of Mesero at Legacy West, and the weather has never been more patio perfect. Sip on margaritas or specialty cocktails and snack on elevated Tex Mex-inspired dishes like brisket tacos, ceviche, and even a cheeseburger.

Del Frisco’s Double Eagle Steak House

Have a luxurious-but-truly Texan dining experience at this classic American steakhouse, which serves top-tier USDA Prime steaks and chops, plus fresh seafood. Don’t eat anything, however, without a hand-crafted cocktail in hand—or do yourself one better and have an on-hand sommelier guide you through the extensive wine list.

True Food Kitchen

If you have a specific food preference or are just feeling fit after giving your wallet a workout while shopping, True Food Kitchen has something on its menu for you. Signature dishes are substantial and alluring—think spaghetti squash casserole and an inside-out quinoa burger—and healthful bowls, salads, pizzas, and even desserts are made with your good health in mind. Check out the bar for sustainable and organic wines, plus local beer and seasonal cocktails made with fresh-pressed juice and organic liquors.

North Italia

This Italian eatery will serve up delicious handmade pizza and pasta that’s always made from scratch with top-tier, fresh ingredients. You might feel like you just stepped off of una strada Italiana, too, thanks to the place’s neighborhood gem-like ambiance and tucked-away location on one of Legacy West’s street corners. North Italia describes its modernized take on traditional Italian cooking as “a love letter to Italy” (which we imagine also tastes delizioso).

Legacy Hall

Finicky eaters and serial samplers rejoice: Legacy Hall has brought an artisanal food hall experience to North Texas. From specialty marketplace items to Philly cheesesteaks and ginger beer floats, this all-encompassing dining hall is THE place to dine and drink at Legacy West because you can eat just about anything. Anchored by Unlawful Assembly Brewing Co. and more than 30 food and beverage stalls, this indoor/outdoor venue is big and broad enough for you to find both eats and a seat.

Literally Everything Else

From the molasses-buttercream-frosting-topped Homestead Cake at Haywire to the laid-back vibe and menu at the Tommy Bahama Restaurant, Legacy West is packed to the brim with dining destinations that are absolutely worth your while. Lombardi Concepts will soon be on a role there, with Taverna, Toulouse and Bistro 31 set to dish up fresh and delicious cuisine with impressive dessert menus and wine lists to match. Fogo de Chao will open its latest location at Legacy West, too, which should settle any Brazilian grilling itches you need scratched. Dean & DeLuca is new to Texas, but we’re sure its latest marketplace-style outpost will attract the area’s most gourmet epicureans. And do we even need to tell you why the 24/7 Cupcake ATM at Sprinkles Cupcakes is worth visiting?
